My Story
Hey there,
I'm not chasing money, I'm chasing impact.
Deep down inside, I know that I have been placed here on this earth for a strong purpose. If you're reading this post - there is a very high chance you feel this way too!
I grew up in an entrepreneurial family.
I saw my dad rise and fall in many different business ventures. So at the young age of 14 years old, I became my dad's apprentice. Having my dad as my mentor meant tagging along to all of his business meetings and learning how he operated his business on a daily-basis. I still remember when we entered a meeting room, he would introduce me saying, "This is Stacy my daughter, she is my assistant and my apprentice."
So there I was at the time -- always a sidekick, never the hero. In fact, in all fairness, I was quite happy living on the sidelines, supporting my dad's business goals in whatever capacity I could. Never would I have imagined that one day, I would take on a leadership role at my dad's company much sooner than I ever anticipated.
I always thought that it'd be YEARS....like 40 years later... until I were to inherit my dad's businesses and by that time I would have accumulated so much business experience that I would have probably had a few of my own! Unfortunately however, my dad died young and at that time, truth be told, devastated by the gaping hole he left through his passing, I was not ready to take on the family business on his behalf.
That being said, I never strayed away from Business. Instead, I worked hand in hand with it as a subject through education. My love and passion for it translated into teaching high school students courses like Business Management and Business Studies. It was here that I taught and imparted business concepts and lessons I learnt from my dad.
So I ask you this, do you have a deep sense that you are made to make a dent in this world too? Though I had this sense, when my father passed away, I buried it and myself in a rut. To escape the pain of not having my best friend around anymore, I entered the rat race; where every day I jumped on the hamster wheel and every night I jumped off and slept. Teach, Eat, Sleep, and Repeat were how my days rolled by.
For 10 years, I had a strong pressing feeling that I had businesses inside of me that I couldn't let die. I kept on waiting and waiting for an opportune time to get back to the business world.
Ever since, I carry with me my "Journey to a Billionaire - Impacting a Billion Lives" journal in which I write down any business ideas that come to mind.
Then one day, I just started. I realised that there is no perfect setting to start a business. I realised that I really just had to start.
And I really had to be like my dad, always do my best, always be my best and always keep my head up high, take a hit, get up again and just never stop. Be grateful for winning and be grateful for failing as well.
I realised that I didn’t need to be someone else, I could be me and I could be business. I could be all woman, all caring, all compassionate, all kindness, all heart, and all winning.
Now, I run several different business projects. Diving back into the business world is an awesome experience! And now that I am back in the business world - I ask myself - what stopped me from doing this earlier? In reflection, part of my struggle to START was a whole bunch of lies and misconceptions about what it takes to get a business going.
And now I want to reach out to all the women out there who is like me really want straight-up information on how to WIN.
I created She Means Bizness with the full intention to give give give so much content, perspectives, tips, insights and full out energy to women who want to have their own business but don't know who, what, when, where and how to go about starting their business.
I'll be blogging, vlogging, and...podcasting!
I’m so excited to share what my dad taught me about business. I’m so excited to share my amazing mentors with you, share interviews with people who really are movers and shakers. We are going to discover inspiring stories together, and I’ll be here to walk you through business concepts/techniques/strategies and yes business formulas too!
There are several different roadmaps to achieving success in business.
For me, I fervently choose the success roadmap of making a difference in people's lives, contributing to others, and creating value for people. One way I practice this is each day I ask God, "Please use me to help answer someone's prayer, and please use me to help build someone's dream." When we begin to realise that we bless others when we live up to our full potential, that's the point at which we can bulldoze through any of the guilt and the lies that stop us from turning our business ideas into thriving realities!
I'd love to hear any questions or thoughts that you have on business! It's my intention to grow a strong unified community of women supporting women in business!

With love,
Stacy
